ProtoSpace Technical Officer (Additive Manufacturing)
The ProtoSpace Technical Officer, Additive Manufacturing, provides support and advice to students, staff and industry partners to maximise related learning, research and industry projects, which support the appropriate safe use of the equipment and machinery within the ProtoSpace.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain the physical infrastructure of the Protospace including maintaining equipment in safe working order
• Develop and implement systems and processes that focus on the technical aspects of the Protospace including a workshop operational procedures manual and maintenance register
• Plan and prepare materials for lab-based instruction to students, staff and industry partners and for research projects with staff and post-graduate students
• Provide advice to academic staff in the implementation of the ProtoSpace capabilities to the curriculum
• Supervise and coordinate casual and part-time technical support staff
• Assist students in advanced manufacturing techniques and construction
