We currently have a new opportunity for a Digital Transformation Manager to join our Innovation and Technology (I&T) Team, reporting directly to the General Manager I&T. This new primarily future focused team is responsible for leading a step change in how Thiess derive value from our innovation and technology efforts now, to set Thiess up for an exciting future as the world’s leading mining services provider. This role has been created as Thiess are thinking ahead to our 2025 strategy and looking for an inspired and creative digital innovator to play an instrumental role in Thiess’ digital future.

Key responsibilities:

Play a pivotal role in shaping Thiess’ strategic thinking with respect to digital future of the industry and our business. This will include:

Helping to finalise digital themes and projects for our Thiess I&T Roadmap to 2020,
Lead digital innovation thinking to help shape Thiess 2025 Strategy and subsequent update to our I&T Roadmap; and
Be a key member of the digital transformation team comprised of members of the CIMIC Group of companies, looking at digital transformation at CIMIC Company level.
Scope and deliver digital transformation and optimisation projects, including business case development, governance and communications, internal and external stakeholder engagement / collaboration, vendor management, risk management, metrics / benefits tracking and achievement of project deliverables to internal client satisfaction, time and budget. Be responsible for multiple digital projects, some ongoing and some from inception.
Work with the I&T team to continue to develop and nurture productive relationships with our I&T ecosystem of partners.
Help design and deliver the digital culture; capacity and the capabilities Thiess need to achieve our future Vision.
Keep abreast of new technological and digital developments in industry; and assess, make recommendations and guide Thiess leaders on best for business approach.

To be considered for this role, you will have a degree (or higher qualification) in a relevant discipline, as well as:

Demonstrated experience of leading and managing successful digital projects and transformations in large organisations, particularly involving legacy system integration.
In-depth understanding of all aspects for digital technology and how they can be strategically applied for maximum business value.
Strong analytical skills; and demonstrated capacity to make decisions informed by data, insights; and stakeholder feedback.
Strong business project management skills and commercial acumen.
Excellent people leadership, relationship management, listening and collaboration skills with the ability to forge positive working relationships and build trust with people across all levels of the business.
Understanding of the impact of digital and technology driven change on organisational culture and the need to effectively engage and lead a diverse range of stakeholders.
Able to achieve positive outcomes with all stakeholders and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Driven to help individuals, team and business to understand the potential of a digitally enabled future and enhance their digital capabilities to thrive.
Experience working internationally or within a diverse business culture is highly desirable.
Exposure to METS and / or mining sector would be an advantage.
