Lock-Box Specialist

Accountable for the daily sorting and opening of incoming mail, including payments, denials, correspondence, (both patient, insurance, and Associate) and the calculating, batching, and deposits of all received materials.

Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information processed. Works with minimal direction; seeks additional help/information as needed from Team leader or Supervisor. Operates general computer CRT, PC, check scanner, telephone, photocopier, and fax.

Responsibilities

  • Sorting of all incoming mail followed by opening and distribution as needed.
  • Batching of all payments into insurance, patient, and client.
  • Batch, scan and verify checks.
  • Daily bank deposit by afternoon deadline and recording collections per classification.
  • Follow-up on payments received with no validation (account numbers, signatures, patient names, etc.). Pull and manually deposit any checks that cannot be handled electronically either on front end or back end.
  • Working with A/P to ensure proper deposit recorded on company ledger.
  • Track inconsistencies in payments from outlying CPL stations.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor.

Technical Services Technician

The Technical Services Technician I provides first line support to internal and external clients for all IT Infrastructure and Application related incidents and requests through request tools, emails and telephone calls. Assigns tickets to the appropriate technology support groups and track them to closure. Advises and assists users in solving problems related to hardware, software, networks and peripherals using available technology. Studies and analyzes systems needs, troubleshoots technical problems and trains users. Advises users on the interpretation of IT reports and report capabilities, limitations, etc. Provides user support, new hire system setups, group metrics and desktop/laptop software evaluations and upgrades. Provides quick response to ensure maximum uptime of all users and performs end user training when necessary.

Report Writer

The Report Writer II designs, develops and distributes meaningful reports from a variety of data sources to a diverse audience in a timely and efficient manner using current business modeling software. Crystal Reports/Business Objects with WEBI is a plus. This position will also mentor and assist the junior report writer to a moderate degree and assist with updating and gathering documentation for data dictionary maintence.

They must have the ability to exercise critical thinking and create efficient data queries and objects using T-SQL. A solid understanding of healthcare as it relates to laboratory testing and related methodologies, including ICD and CPT coding and how reimbursement can be adversely impacted related to inapropriate coding. The ability to produce and understand operational data sets to satisfy business requirements for a laboratory based business is essential.
