The Construction Manager performs construction and contractor management responsibilities for the Gas program of works.
The Construction Manager leads a team of Network Integrity Officers who assists Project Managers and Project Coordinators with the delivery of field-related activities of their projects (Routine). This involves monitoring, controlling, directing, supervising and guiding activities occurring on gas connections and mains construction projects. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Construction Manager will undertake all elements of the project management discipline for the works under their control.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
- Ensure construction activities are undertaken safely, reliably and in accordance to customer’s expectations.
- Manage the Construction team ensuring accountability and performance on construction tasks.
- Monitor and control changes through change requests, site instructions and corrective actions.
- Facilitate cost estimates, providing input into the development of the project Business Cases.
- Managing service providers.
Electrical Network Operator
Reporting to the Team Leader – Network Field Operations, we have a new opportunity available for an Electrical Network Operator to join Jemena as a permanent employee based in our brand new, purpose built Broadmeadows Depot.
The Electrical Network Operator contributes to the safe and cost effective operation, construction, and maintenance of the Electrical Distribution System of the Jemena Electricity Network (JEN).
Other key responsibilities include:
- Operation of all Zone Substation & Distribution electrical equipment on the JEN, including planned and emergency switching,
- Issuing of Electrical Access Authorities and other related paperwork,
- Provide Network Operations Control (NOC) relief duties,
- Interpret operating diagrams and construction drawings (high voltage and low voltage),
- Testing and commissioning of new apparatus and/or testing of damaged apparatus.
The Electrical Network Operator will be required to work availability on a shift roster. The candidate will also have to work overtime to allow planned/unplanned network switching to be performed, including providing emergency response to the Jemena network.
