The way our Cinemas work
Our operating hours are usually from 9am to midnight seven days a week and we trade 365 days per year. Some shifts can start as early as 7am and finish as late as 3am on weekends. You will need to specify when you are available to work in your application.
We ask that our team members have the ability to work Friday, Saturday & Tuesday nights and weekends. Availability to work school and public holidays is essential as these are usually the times when our customers want to see movies!
Everything else, we will teach you on the job.

Applicants must be over the age of 15 to work at HOYTS.
HOYTS Australia pays junior rates based on age until the adult rate applies at age 21. If a junior employee is a secondary school student, there may be restrictions on the hours and times they can work.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a premium cinema cook, you’ll be managing all the day to day aspects of the kitchen and cooking operations. You will work closely with the LUX Venue Manager to ensure the team delivers our premium cinema concept through KPIs. You’ll be known for your ability to plan, organise, multi-task and stay clam under pressure.

- Previous restaurant or QSR experience in a similar role
- Proven ability setting, articulating and ensuring KPIs are exceeded
- Engagement of your team through training and empowerment
- High standards of food preparation and productivity
- Ability to work well under pressure
- A strong focus on food and services standards, implementing policies and procedures and monitoring kitchen maintenance requirements.
- Energy, positivity and resilience with a keen focus on motivating others
- Outstanding communication skills
- Understanding of compliance, food safety and the risk mitigation process
